This is a test I made a while ago for Sparky's forum. So I figured I should bring it to this forum. Several edits were made since I first made this test. All you do is answer the questions yes or no. If you answer YES you add a point to your score total. The more questions you answer yes to in this first part, the more sueish your character is.

IF YOU'RE NOT SURE ABOUT AN ANSWER JUST PUT YES!

1. Is your character’s name...
A. Is your character named after a character from an already existing character from another series? (This also includes videogames, comic books, etc...)
B. Would you like to have your character’s name?
C. Japanese sounding if they are not Japanese.
D. Do they have more than one unique sounding nickname.
E. If a noun, is it related to nature, a weapon, a gemstone, darkness, or something mystical.

2. Is your character described as extremely beautiful or handsome?

3. Do other characters constantly tell your character how beautiful he/she is?

4. Does your character have an attractive scent?

5. Does your character have a particularly piercing (EG, "can stare straight into your soul"), haunting, captivating, or dazzling gaze?

6. Do they have an abnormally high IQ level?
A. Is the character a genius?

7. Does the character have an abnormal power?
A. A power like that of a comic book character?
B. Same exact power from an already existing character? (Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z, Kyuubi from Naruto, etc..)

8. Do they possess an ITEM with an abnormal/magical power?
A. Is it a crystal?
B. Medallion?
C. Gemstone?
D. Amulet?
E. Cape?
F. Do they carry/wear it around with them all the time?

10. Is your character best friends with any of the canon characters (Lucky, Cadpig, Rolly, Spot, Two Tone, etc...)?

11. Are they shunned by everyone at the farm?

12. Does your character like Thunderbolt more than Lucky?
A. To the point of over obsession?

13. Can your character eat more food than Rolly?
A. WITHOUT gaining any weight?

14. Is your character an experiment made in a laboratory?
A. Made to kill and destroy?
B. Made to kill a main character from the show?

15. Does EVERYONE like/love your character?

16. Does your character angst over something that wasn’t even their fault?

17. Was a parent of your character killed?
A. BOTH of them killed?
B. Right in front of your character’s eyes?

18. Does your character have a crush on any of the characters in the show?
A. Do they end up getting paired up?
B. Do they have children?

19. Does the character carry around a weapon with them all the time?
A. A weapon that another character from a different show, videogame, etc has?

20. Do they easily foil Cruella’s plans without moving a paw?

21. If your character is an animal can they talk to humans in their tongue?

22. Is your character one of the original 15 dalmatian puppies?

23. Can your character sing so well that it gets the attention of others?
A. Do they become famous anywhere for it?
B. Can they use it to seduce others?

24. Does your character have an evil clone?
A. Do they constantly haunt or stalk the character they were cloned from?
B. Do they want to KILL the person they were cloned from?

25. If not an evil clone, is your character haunted by an evil spirit?
A. Can the spirit possess your character?

26. Is the character a evil clone of one of the canon characters?
A. A clone of one of YOUR own characters?

27. Can your character transform into a more powerful form when they are angry?

28. Can their eyes change color depending on their mood?
A. When they're angry?

29. Is your character cursed in some way?

Total so far:

Point Reducers
Here you can get points subtracted from your 'Total so far' to make your character less of a mary sue/gary stue.

1. Does your character have some kind of disorder (mentally disabled, retarded, etc)?
A. Do they ACT like a person should with said disorder?

2. Does your character have a truly debilitating phobia that does not mysteriously disappear at a crucial moment?

3. Do you ever poke fun at your character's faults/weaknesses and/or use them as plot devices?

4. Does your character NOT have any weird bizarre powers?

5. Have you actually taken time to amend faults with your character?

GRAND TOTAL:

0-5 points: Most likely a non-sue, you shouldn't have to worry about them.

6-10: Your character can go either way at this point, it would probably do some good to edit them a little.

11+: At this point it's best you either start over or just get rid of them.
